What other products do the top holistic pet food companies sell?

If you are sold on holistic pet foods that do NOT contain corn, wheat, by-products, and other bad things and which DO contain chelated minerals, probiotics, and healthy herbs, you are probably someone who also wants to give healthy treats, baths, and supplements.

Or, maybe, on impulse, you buy tasty-sounding treats for your dogs and cats and haven’t really paid attention to the ingredients. You do it out of love and a desire to give them something special, to be sure.

I did a little experiment, popped upwards of $50, and bought one of every kind of cat treat at the grocery store, PetSmart, and PetCo. I was shocked to see how many treats contain “animal digest” (that’s the contents of some unidentified animals’ stomach, because by law they have to identify the critter it came from… if they know). Knowing what I know, at the time I bought them, there WASN’T ONE SINGLE TREAT I COULD FEED MY PETS.

I picked some of the better known holistic pet food companies and just browsed their websites to see what else they offer your pets that is natural and healthy.  Most offer their products via their online websites.  Note that it can be expensive to ship one $8 bag of treats for $5.  Suggest purchasing a couple of months’ worth of treats at a time, or combining with the other products these companies offer.

In no particular order, here is my somewhat comprehensive list:

Halo Pets

Live-a-Littles Treats: Lamb, Salmon, Chicken, Beef, 100% of whichever meat is used, freeze-dried, $12.99 for 1.6 – 3 oz, depending on which variety you get. By the way, something you don’t see very often, these treats are for both dogs and cats!

Protein Sprinkles: Salmon, Beef, Chicken — You sprinkle this on foods if your pet is low appetite and just not eating well — This is not just flavored protein, this looks like the real thing, something your pets would really enjoy

Live-a-Littles Catnip

Halo has a wide variety of supplements for skin & coat, arthritis and hip and joint, Vitamin C to boost immunity (this is a big favorite of holistic vets), and a general vitamin supplement

Halo also has herbal shampoos, healing salves (for hot spots), ear wash, eye wash, and even an herbal dip for fleas and ticks.  Ingredients in the dip are: Tea Tree Oil, Rosemary Oil, Sage Oil, Cedarwood Oil, Peppermint Oil, Sweet Orange Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Citronella Oil, Pine Needle Oil

Halo Products can be bought in some specialty pet health or natural health stores but they are also available online directly from the Halo website.

Mulligan Stew

Mulligan Stew just offers canned dog food and canned cat food but it’s available in both retail establishments and online at their website.

Wellness

Wellness is starting be sold at PetSmart and PetCo.  It’s also available in specialty health and pet stores and online through PetFoodDirect.
