There are a few foods to avoid – I am surprised no one has posted them. The ones I know to avoid are:
CHOCOLATE
ONION
GRAPES
REAL MEAT BONES
DEFINATELY NO RIB BONES
FATS, OILS, SPICES
I want to say there is a green vegie on this list, i belive it’s spinach, but i am not sure….
Hi there-
Avocados contain persin and are poisonous to dogs, as well.
This is a great site!
My yellow labrador is castrated and now about 1.5 stone overweight, even though I have cut his dry feed by about 0.25%. I have 2 horses who i feed alfalpha / sugarbeet to. Can i put some of this in my dogs feed to bulk it out a bit? The alfalfa / sugar beet is a pellet that you soak before feeding.
No Rawhide – it can get stuck in their gut. It is really scary and you have no idea what is up after your dog has been bone chewing and your dog is in distress.
When our service dogs are sick or have the runs we give them rice for a few days. We make it bland but not white rice Brown Rice ONLY if you have it- it is better for your animal.
